Backup IT Support
You may be happy with your internal IT Support provision and your internal team may be able to handle all your ongoing IT needs. If this is you BRAVO! However you may need to implement some sort of contingency plan for the “What If” situations – periods when your internal IT team are unable to deal with your IT needs.

1. You get into work on Monday morning and everyone has downed tools because the server isn’t working and the IT guy is off sick and no one can log on.
2. The snow really hits (or some other severe weather condition) and your IT staff is stranded and unable to come to work.
3. You need to relocate premises and the workload is simply too much for your IT Team.
4. One hour before you give an important sales pitch you suffer a major IT emergency and your IT team based at your Head Office in London is unable to fix the problem remotely AND your office is based in Birmingham over 100 miles away.
5. You recently won a major contract. Great news for your business but just one small snag – your client is based in the USA and your regular mode of contact is via the internet. From time to time you may require IT support outside normal working hours to troubleshoot connectivity problems.
